We are aware of the Greenock Telegraph’s report today regarding an individual who has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault said to have taken place at our club.
We understand this is concerning for many and want to reassure our members and the wider community that the safety and wellbeing of everyone who engages with our club is, and always will be, our highest priority.
As soon as concerns were raised, the club acted immediately. The matter was reported without delay to Police Scotland and to our sport’s governing body. The individual was placed under precautionary suspension and removed from all club activity with immediate effect, in line with safeguarding best practice.
While we recognise the level of interest in this matter, we are unable to comment further due to the ongoing police investigation.
Our club is proud to be a valued part of the local community. We remain fully committed to providing a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all.
